This powerful module allows
rapid identification of medications based on one or more of the
following descriptors: use, pattern, shape, scoring, markings, form,
coatings, color, generic name, and manufacturer name. Color images
are available for visual verification as well as a medication
summary window with complete description information for each tablet
and capsule. Once the exact medication is chosen, you have direct
access to each Lexi-Comp database to obtain specific clinical
information (eg, dosage, overdosage/toxicology, and warnings).
Users specify a drug regimen
and automatically analyze the data for drug interactions, duplicate
therapy, and drug allergy alerts. Printing this medication summary
report for review by the physician will help decrease adverse drug
events, increase productivity, and improve patient care.
Access to the full functionality
of a medical dictionary, including over 100,000 medical definitions,
phrases, pronunciations, and related terms.
This module provides you with the
following commonly used medical calculations: Body Surface Area,
Ideal Body Mass for Pediatrics and Adults, Estimated Creatinine
Clearance, and Temperature Conversion.
This unique module associates
multiple symptoms with possible causing agents and provides quick
access to treatment guidelines for any agent selected. Enter
symptoms presented by a patient to receive separate lists of
medicinal, nonmedicinal, and biological agents associated with the
selected symptoms. Each list is ranked in descending order by the
number of symptoms attributed to each agent. Once an agent is
selected, you have direct access to the Poisoning & Toxicology
database to obtain treatment, antidote, and other needed
information.
This large multi-text database of clinical drug (and other) information is easy to use, logically organized and built around a search engine that is impressive in both speed and utility. The content is complete and useful.
